| Digital Radiography uses small intraoral digital screens instead of x-ray film to capture dental images instantly on personal computers and thus eliminating the need for developing solutions. Much less radiation (approx 1/8th) is needed which greatly limits patient exposure. Once the image is captured it can be changed many ways (contrast, brightness etc....) yielding greater information than conventional dental x-rays. Digital x-rays can also be saved in the computer, recalled at any time and even emailed to other dentists. |
